Can it really relieve pain and reduce swelling? How soon are effects seen?

Cryotherapy reduces local blood flow and tissue metabolism to reduce inflammatory exudation and pain, thereby helping with pain relief and swelling reduction. Short-term cold therapy typically relieves pain within minutes to hours after surgery or acute sports injury and, with continued treatment, can reduce swelling over time; however, effect size depends on individual differences, injury type, cold temperature, and duration of use. People with circulatory disorders should consult a physician first.

Why recommend a hard-shell design? How does it differ from a soft-shell?

A hard-shell cold therapy machine uses thick-wall insulation and an integral molding structure, similar in principle to outdoor cooler boxes. It delivers longer cold retention, stronger resistance to compression/tipping, and more reliable sealing; the soft-shell option is lightweight and cheaper but generally offers shorter cold retention, is prone to collapse or leakage, and is more suitable for short trips or occasional use—often leading to repeat purchases.

Is it noisy at night? Could it cause frostbite? How is temperature controlled and monitored?

The product uses a quiet circulation pump; measured noise is below 30 dB. The device has a built-in temperature sensor that monitors the circulating water temperature in real time and includes protection logic: when an abnormal temperature (below or above the set safety range) is detected, it triggers an alert and will stop circulation by design to protect skin safety. The device adjusts flow rate automatically based on real-time and set temperature values (note: this unit does not contain an active refrigeration module and requires manually added ice).

Will it leak or wet the sheets? How to ensure safe use at home?

We use an integral hard-shell insulated tank (non-leaking design), built-in spring quick-connect fittings (tested for 10,000 insertions), silicone tubing (low-temperature resistant, not prone to cracking), and high-density insulated tubing and layers (to reduce condensation), all aimed at reducing leakage risk.
